Human Rights in Bangladesh

After having discussed about Human Rights violations in Rwanda, we had the chance to talk about the situation in another poor country, this time in south east Asia, Bangladesh.

We watched the video of the visit of 5 Greek teachers in Bangladesh and tried to identify again which Human Rights are violated. We discussed about Happy Homes and how ActionAid is trying to provide shelter to poor young girls in Dhaka, the capital city of Bangladesh.

We also watched the video about Alkima and Salma, a young girl from Dhaka who explains how she managed to find her way to education and safety.

Human Rights in Rwanda

Last time we met with our eTwinning students we accessed and discussed the following video. It was shot during the visit of 5 school teachers from Greece in Rwanda, a poor country of central Africa.

While watching the video the students identified which basic Human Rights are violated. We all then discussed on the reasons why these violations may occur and how we can help to overcome the problem.

We also accessed the educational material about Rwanda and worked on some activities.
